The Longview Room
Drop-In Hours
Wednesdays, 3 to 5 p.m.
The Longview Room houses the local history collection of the Longview Public Library and is located on the library mezzanine. Newspaper clippings, maps, pamphlets, books about Washington (in particular the Southwest part of the State), clippings about the 1980 Mount St. Helens volcanic eruption,
local yearbooks, and a large collection of photographs of Longview's founding in the 1920's make up the main parts of the collection. You can view a growing collection of these materials
online in our Digital Archive.
Some books are found in the Longview Room only. They are listed in the Online Catalog and are available to view on request but generally
cannot be checked out. Ask at the Main Desk on the 2nd floor. Many other titles have copies in regular circulation as well as in the Longview Room; be sure to check the item's location and status in the
catalog to see whether it is checked in or out.

In addition to the Longview Room collection, we also have The Daily News, Kelsonian, and others archived on microfilm. These can be checked out from the Main Desk using photo ID to view in-house on our microfilm reader.
