Small donations of a couple items can be placed in the cat-shaped drop box inside the lower floor entrance. Currently, larger donations are accepted in the Drive-Thru/Book Drop lane when the Friends of the Library are working, Thursday mornings between 10 am and noon. If the doors at the yellow rail are not open, please knock. Please limit these donations to a few boxes or bags. If you have questions about donations or need to schedule another time to bring donations, please email the Friends of the Longview Public Library.
Books (as well as newspapers and magazines) that need to be recycled can be deposited in the blue Lions Club paper collection box near the Library's outside bookdrop and Drive-Thru service area.
Please do not place donations in the bookdrop or leave them unattended outside of Drive-Thru hours.
Please do not place donated materials in the inside or outside book returns.
At your request, Library staff will provide you with a receipt that you may fill out for tax purposes. The Library staff is not qualified to determine the value of your donation. It will be up to you to assign a value for tax purposes.
The Friends of the Longview Public Library also financial contributions through GiveButter.
All donations are greatly appreciated. Some donated materials are added to the Library's collections. Anything that cannot be added to the collection is sold at the Friends of the Library book sales or on the Internet. The money raised by sales goes to fund programming and to purchase other library materials.
