Story Times

Baby Story Time

Mondays, January 22 - April 22 | 10:30 a.m.

Join us for simple stories, lap bounces, songs, and tickle rhymes. Recommended for pre-walkers, birth and up, and their grownups.

Toddler Time

Tuesdays, January 16 - April 23 | 10:30 a.m.

Come to the Library for stories, activities, and an easy craft all designed for busy toddlers and their grownups.

Preschool Story Time

Wednesdays, January 17 - April 24 | 10:30 a.m.

Join us for stories, rhymes, songs, and a craft. Recommended for preschoolers aged 3 years and up, along with their grownups.


Fun Hours

Thursdays & Fridays | 9 a.m. - Noon

Our MJO Activity room is open for free play and socializing for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers and their grownups.


Story Walk

Now you can visit Archie Anderson Park and go for a StoryWalk! A StoryWalk is a picture book deconstructed and placed along a path so families can walk, read the story, and connect with each other and their neighbors. There will be a new picture book in the StoryWalk each month!

This StoryWalk is a joint project between the Longview Public Library and Longview Parks & Recreation and is funded through the Washington State Library, IMLS, and the American Rescue Plan Act.

Community Baby Shower

Saturday, January 27 | 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Has your family recently welcomed a new baby, or are you expecting? Join us for a Community Baby Shower! Learn about services in Cowlitz County for birth through one year, participate in a lapsit story time, and play fun games for a chance to win a prize! All families will receive a free book bag and board book thanks to support from the Friends of the Longview Library.


Classic Movie Night

Tuesday (monthly) | 5:30 p.m.
Enjoy a movie and popcorn at the Library ! This event is free and open to all ages. Doors open at 5:15, and seats are first come, first served.

     February 6: It Happened One Night (1934, Not Rated, 105 min.)


Find the Figure

Kids are invited to search for the figure hidden somewhere in the children's library. When you find the figure, tell us where it's hiding that day to pick out a prize from our treasure chest. January's figure is Glaceon!

Book Clubs

Kids Book Club

4th Wednesday, 3:30 p.m.

Meet monthly with other kids and library staff to discuss a book together. Books are available free to kids participating in the book club thanks to the Friends of the Longview Library. Sign up and get your book at the Lower Floor Desk. Kids Book Club is recommended for readers in Grades 3-5.
